We stepped outside of our comfort zone and took some sailing school courses in the Canary Islands. It was a tremendous success in many ways; we met new friends, added to our sailing skills, saw beautiful landscapes and cities, learned some history and culture of the Canaries, and built confidence in facing new challenges.

Hurricane Ian totaled our sailboat Terrapin. The realization is slowly sinking in. We’re doing our best to ride the emotional rollercoaster and look forward to future sailing adventures.
Our highlight at Shroud Cay was what we call a “Disneyworld-like” excursion in our dinghy through Sanctuary Creek. We saw numerous turtles, climbed the trail to Camp Driftwood lookout, and soaked in all the natural beauty of this archipelago of mangroves, rocks, and cays.
