We weren’t looking for a refit project when we bought our boat, but here we go again! Over the winter months, we made lists, researched ideas, and ordered parts in preparation for a concentrated few months of boat projects this spring.

We were beginning to think we might name our sailboat Mystery because coming up with a name was a mystery for so long. Why was it so hard for us to choose a name? There were many names that we liked and reflected different aspects of our personalities, values, and sailing lifestyle, but yet indecision reigned!

Hurricane Ian totaled our sailboat Terrapin. The realization is slowly sinking in.  We’re doing our best to ride the emotional rollercoaster and look forward to future sailing adventures.

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” With a good old boat, there always seems to be a daunting list of projects. Here are some of the imrpovements we’ve made on our sailboat Terrapin, a Westsail 32.
